MX Right: How to Monitor Email Health

3 min With Jade Gilbert Section 3 Lesson 9

You can't fix deliverability you can't see. When outreach quietly lands in spam, the cause is usually the setup of the sending account itself, and Pitchbox scores every connected account for free. This shows where to find that score, how to read the report behind it, and how to re-check after someone makes a fix.

If you're looking for a quick and easy way to check on the health of your email accounts, you can do that right within Pitchbox. First, head on over to Settings, and then select Email Accounts from the menu. On this dashboard, you can see each of the email accounts you have connected to the system, and against each one, you'll also have an Mx Score. Now, MxRight is a tool developed and provided by Pitchbox for free, and is designed to look at the health and setup of your email to make sure it's ready for success. So if you want to make sure you're getting the most from your outreach, we want to aim for a score that is between A to A+.

Anything less may indicate a problem with the setup that we want to take a look at. For more information on this report, you can select on this icon here, and then select See Full Report to understand what's happening with your email accounts. Now, on the left of the report, you can see a timestamp letting you know when MxRight last checked that email. Now, we do have an option to ask the system to recheck the email which you can do from your Deliverability Center. First, head back to this section, and then select Spam Prevention. From here, we want to scroll down and locate the email that we would like to run a new MxRight check on.

As we find the email, select the three dots, and then select Check Mx Score. That asks MxRight to run a new check at the point at which you click this button. In addition to this, you can also check on your MxRight history. This is a great way to see any trends with your email score and understand exactly when that score may have changed. Now, if we dive back into the MxRight report, you may see that there are a few different elements. On the left, we can see each of the areas that MxRight is actively checking. Now, if there are any areas that might be of concern, you will see this noted in red.

If we scroll down, we can see that there is an area of our record that we may want to look into, and as we can see, it's indicated by the cross. Where we see a tick, it means that part of the email is okay. But if you or your team have any questions about MxRight or any areas that may be impacting your email, we recommend jumping on the support chat and speaking with a member of the team.
