Intro to Recurring Campaigns

3 min With Jade Gilbert Section 4 Lesson 33

Content you'd want to pitch gets published every week, but most campaigns only look once. Turn recurring on and Pitchbox re-runs your keywords every month until a date you choose, adding new sites as they appear. Set it when you build the campaign, or switch it on for one that's already running.

Let's take a look at how to set up a recurring campaign. Now, this is a feature in Pitchbox that allows your campaign to automatically look for new content based on a batch of keywords. Now, this can be set up on campaigns that are keyword-driven, and you can do it when you first create a campaign or on an existing campaign, so long as it's just got a single batch of keywords. Let's take a look at how to get that set up. So when we're first creating a campaign, we want to make sure that we have a strong batch of keywords and that we are maximizing the keyword limit, because that's going to increase our search potential.

Once we're happy with our keywords, we're then going to adjust our metrics below. Because again, these are the settings the campaign will reference every time it runs a new search, so we want to make sure that we are happy with the metrics that we've set. Once you have your keywords and metrics, we're then going to come to additional controls and toggle the recurring option to on. This is going to reveal some additional settings. Now, under this section, this is going to tell the system how frequently we want it to look for new content. So as it stands, it's going to run a new search every month, and it will be restarting on the date from which that campaign was first created, meaning that if we run a campaign today on the 23rd of December, it means the next search will be on the 23rd of January.

Now, we can have this campaign keep looking for new content until a specified date, which you can list down here. Once you're happy with the settings, then come down to the bottom of the campaign creation page and then select next. However, let's say you want to enable the recurring feature on an existing campaign. Well, to do so, just head on over to the campaign settings and then select the settings from the menu. Now, the setup for recurring is going to be the same, so long as you only have one out of your five searches enabled and you're happy with the keywords and the metrics set, just come over and toggle on the recurring feature. Again, set your frequency, set your end date, and just press save. And that means that the recurring feature will now start looking for content automatically.
