Connect Your Email Account Ready for Outreach

4 min With Jade Gilbert Section 1 Lesson 3

Connecting the account takes about thirty seconds. The settings underneath it decide whether your outreach reaches anyone. Pitchbox runs a free health check the moment you connect, then lets you set a daily send limit, add a signature, and control which teammates can read replies that land in the account.

Let's take a look at how to connect an email account for outreach to your Pitchbox account. Now to get started, head on over to Settings, and then select Email Accounts from the menu. From here, select Add Email Accounts, and then choose the pathway that represents the email provider you are currently with. Let's say, for example, I'm adding a Gmail account. For this, just select Google, choose which of your email accounts you'd like to connect, select Continue, and continue once more. Once you connect that email account, you'll now see it listed in your email account dashboard.

Anytime you connect a new email, Pitchbox will automatically run an MxRight check, and it will give you a health score as seen on the right. Now MxRight is a tool provided by Pitchbox, and it's a free email health analyzer. It's looking at the setup and configuration of your email account and the health of the domain that you're under. We ideally want a score between A to A+, to ensure we have the best chance of success with our outreach. Anything less could have an impact on your deliverability. If you'd like a full breakdown on your report, simply select the score here, and select See Full Report for more information.

Each report can be shared with your IT team. If you have any specific questions, we recommend contacting Pitchbox support using the button below. Now once that email account is connected, you have the option to set up an email account signature. Simply hover over and select Email Signature from the menu. Your email account signature is a great way to convey your professional business identity, and it lets your recipient know who you are, and what your position is, and what business you're assigned to. Once you have your email account and signature set up, we do have some additional settings to control how and where that email account is used.

First, hover over your email and select Edit Settings. Here, you can tell us whether you want certain actions taken in Pitchbox to be reflected in your email server. You can also set a daily outreach limit, so this is going to cap how many emails this one email address can send within a 24-hour period, as well as some extra changes to your email region if required. Beyond that, we can also adjust our security settings. On the left, you have Email Privacy, and this is related to your email unmatched folder. So this is a section of Pitchbox where we direct communications that are not directly related to an existing relationship record.

When you set Email Privacy to On, it means those communications will be blurred for other team members within the account and will only be visible to the email account owner. On the right, we also have Partial Match, and this means that if we can see that there is a relevant conversation and contact, it will create a contact record against the opportunity and automatically link it together. Below this, you can adjust your unsubscribed rule requests, as well as selecting which of your projects you want that email account to be used in. If your team have any questions about your email account or its status, just simply connect with the support team for more information.
