Intro to Cherry Pick

4 min With Jade Gilbert Section 4 Lesson 28

You have already found thousands of good sites. Cherry Pick lets you search that history and build a fresh campaign from it, ideal for re-engaging prospects six months after the first attempt. It copies rather than moves them, so the original campaigns stay exactly as they are, along with their data.

Let's take a look at how to run a Cherry Pick campaign, so again you'll find this in the campaign menu and it's designed to help you pull in a list of websites that's actually being sourced from your account's internal database. So these are sites that you have found historically through a range of different campaigns under a range of different projects. Now if you want to see this master list you can go through the CRM and head into Opportunity Search. You can create Cherry Picks directly from this section of the tool but if you want a quick and easy way to do this you can also do it from this workflow.

Now Cherry Pick campaigns are really good if you're doing things like a re-engagement campaign where perhaps you've had a list of opportunities that you've targeted and you may want to do a new batch of outreach several months later. So this makes it quick and easy to grab those sites and bring it into a new campaign. In essence what we are doing is just creating a copy of those sites for a new purpose. It doesn't move them or affect them from their previous campaigns, you'll just have a second copy representing the new activity that you're running today.

Let's take a look at how to set that up. Now what you will notice when you select Cherry Pick campaign is it doesn't immediately take you to your standard campaign build window. What it's doing is taking you to that same destination we spoke about just a moment earlier and that's your opportunity search dashboard from your CRM, because again the goal is for us to pick a range of sites that we've already worked with and use them for a new purpose. So before we can create our campaign we need to first tell the system which sites we'd like to pull in.

Now the easiest way to do that is to leverage some of the filters on the top left hand side. Now this will allow you to pick a range of sites based on a particular project from a specific campaign, under a set tag, there are a lot of different options to choose from. But once you've made your selection just select it from here and then select apply. You also have the option to use any extended filters by using the advanced search on the top right hand corner. There is a key to help you with a different kind of searches that you can run but it does give you another way to narrow down your results based on more specific parameters.

For example if you're focusing on sites with a particular Ahrefs backlink rating or a domain rating, you do have the option to narrow that down by using the headers above. So if I were to narrow my search to only sites with an Ahrefs domain rating that is greater than say 30, I can do so like this. Now in order to bring these sites into a new campaign, we just need to select everything that we'd like to carry forward. In this case I'm going to take everything from the list. And then we're going to select add to and then create a Cherry Pick campaign.

In this pop-up we're going to choose where we want this new campaign to be placed. So in this case I would like it to be in my demo project. And I also want to copy over any personalization data, meaning any data that was tracked against that website will keep a copy of that as we create a new record. Once you're done just press OK. And this will take you to your standard campaign creation window. The only difference is that you will notice there's not a keyword section. And that's because we are not running an external search. In essence what we have done is done the search manually but through our own database.

So we already have our list of sites. We now just want to tell the system whether we need to find any additional contact or whether we want to do any additional filtering to improve the quality. Once you're done just press next and you'll have those sites added directly into your workflow.
