Integration Campaigns: Intro to Broken Backlinks
A broken link is a problem the site owner probably doesn't know they have, which makes it the rare outreach email that's genuinely useful to receive. This finds dead links across the domains you target so you can offer a replacement. Requires an Ahrefs account, the only tool this campaign works with.
The broken backlink campaign, available under the integration campaign suite, is here to help you identify links that are no longer linking on a specific target page. Now, this is exclusively available with the Ahrefs tool, so if it's something that you would like to leverage, you will need your own account with Ahrefs outside of Pitchbox. If you haven't done so already, you can connect this by heading over to these settings, and then select Integrations from the menu. Under Ahrefs v3, just select Connect to link that tool with the system. Once you've linked your tool, this campaign type will become available from the campaign menu, and let's take a look at how to set this up.
So to get started, we want to enter a range of domains or specific URLs that we want to extract the broken backlinks from. So we're going to enter them in this box one after the other, and then from here, we're going to set a cap on how many broken backlinks will be returned from all of the sites that we're going to search through. Once we've done that, we can also apply a quality filter, and this helps us only pull the sites that have a specific quality range. You can adjust your filters by moving the sliders in this menu, and once you're happy with your range, just select Next. The system will loop through the target URLs or domain, and those broken backlinks will be entered into your workflow, ready to begin outreach.
