Guest posting is one of the few link building methods where the quality of your pitch decides the outcome, which means it is fixable. Most pitches die because the topic serves the sender, not the reader, and because nobody bridged the relevance between the page carrying the link and the page receiving it. Short lesson, and the setup for everything in this section.
One of my favorite ways of building links is through guest post pitches. I really like this method because it really depends on the quality of your guest post pitch, whether or not you're going to get that link. Of course, there are other things that are important too, if you need to have a site that looks authentic and you need to be able to show your quality as a writer, but it does make life sometimes easier. And the better your guest post pitch, the higher the chance for you to get a free, unpaid link. One of the things that's really important for successful guest post link building is that you need to bridge the relevancy between the linking page and your target page.
So ideally, you of course want links from sites that are really relevant, but also really important is that the page that you're linking from is relevant to the target page. And to get a guest post accepted, you also need to make sure that your topic is relevant, useful and valuable for the audience of your link prospect. So I'm going to show you a couple of ways of how I do content ideation for guest post pitches.
